    Any suggestions for the best late nights bars / nightclubs in Patong, Phuket, Thailand? Classy, up market places that would be nice to meet at. Told that the Reggae Bar is good spot - has anybody been there / would they recommend it?

    I have seen a lot of advertising from 'Seduction Night Club' in Phuket. But to be frank, no where in Patong is 'Classy'.

    Not known for classy nightspots, if so I never found them and I do look. Being a holiday place ' everyone seems to find a nice restaurant to dine out before they gravitate to Bangla Rd and the bars. They're all good fun . The girls have fun with you and you with them. Even though I have a few drinks and a good laugh they're not the girls I want to sleep with.
    I've had some beautiful Thai girls but never a bar girl. However' had the pleasure of receptionists (2) , air hostess, shop assistant, even meet on the beach and in the supermarkets. These are normal thai girls working for their family who love a dinner date at some fancy restaurant, then going out on the town for a few drinks..
    Even if you dont find a up market meeting place, you'll still have a good time...

    Obviously you judge from a distance.. 99% of visitors go to experience the beauty the island has to offer along with the food and culture. When the sun goes down most go where everyone goes and that's to enjoy the entertainment. Lady boys are in one small section of Bangla rd.. Most people are curious and stop to look for a photo or 2 then move on to the next piece of entertainment...

    Not really my desired place to visit but I'm sure if in the holiday mod u will find ur way to a great time :) A mate goes all the time and has mentioned re underage girls so make sure u confirm there ages :))

    Ive holidayed in Patong a few times, never have I seen underage girls . If there is , they must either be in another location or very well camouflaged . I think this is mostly guy talk . Not saying there's not, just saying I never seen them... Talk can be misleading ...

    There are underage people trying to party everywhere. In the US you can find 16 or 17 year-old trying to sneak into a party/night clubs/etc. Same in Australia, you have to always check everywhere.

    Did your friend check their ID and see that they are underage or did he just look at them and think they are underage? Asians can seem to be younger than they actually are if you compare them to Westerners of the same age.

    Most importantly, if you choose to go to the right place you'll have no problem- so it's up to you what you're seeking. If you want bar girls experience in Thailand you will get it, or you can get a completely opposite experience if you choose to do other things.

    I used to own a condo in Pattaya. If you think people go to Pattaya for the beauty of the island you are dreaming. It is all about the partying, the bars and the girls. It is a party island and I wouldn't exactly call the bars classy. Having said that there are a few good ones but my suggestion would be to try a few and you will find one where the vibe suits you.

    We are a couple who visit Thailand regularly having worked there and with friends currently living there. We always visit the bars and have had some fantastic conversations with the girls and especially the mamasans. My advice? Go early before the punters arrive. The bars further down the sous tend to be quieter and you can chat. And if you feel like taking a little something extra home with you your new friend will help you choose wisely.

    No seriously get away from the party district, "Bangla rd" and head out. I regularly travel there for the boxing side of things. Head country or the smaller towns and you'll find some bars where the locals actually hang out.

    Here you'll find genuinely awesome Thai guys and girls, all very welcoming, VERY welcoming. Remember most of these people are poorer than us westerners, a cheap dinner for you would be five star to some of them.

    PHUKET is very beautiful and Bangla road patong is fun but if it is nightlife you want, forget PHUKET and go to pattaya city, near bangkok. Crazy place with endless bars go go bars nightclubs and fantastic restaurants. This city is on steroids permanently. Alot cheaper than PHUKET too.
