Event alerts - how to turn off?

May 16 2014

How do I turn off the event alerts coming up on the left the RHP webpages? I never asked to be alerted about the events that are being suggested to me. It appears to be form of disguised advertising.

It's blatant advertising but why let it bother you? Just ignore.

That seems to be blocking the adds you mention, because I can't see any lol. I get way better performance this way.

Will try that, thanks for the suggestion. Guys, thanks for your replies too, we all have differing levels of tolerance for these things. You see, the 'My event alerts' sit below the messages and flirts. Unless all the messages and flirts are commercial advertising, it's not the place for these 'event alerts'.

I agree its annoying, as it shows up as a message unless you click on it. - Posted from rhpmobile

It's a folder in your inbox that you actually have to click into to see. Why does that bother you? Besides, the events is where all the fun is being had. They are the places to actually meet people. ;-)

I don't understand OP why are you bothered about it? How I see it, it's a choice to look in the folder or not? I recently looked in my folder and some of the events don't interest me one bit, however one event did stand out to me. A bonfire on the beach open to all - I thought what a great way to meet like minded people... Something a little different from the same ol club events that I always see..... *sighs* If only I lived at cairns. There are always different/various events (from clubs to private parties, to meet and greets, to workshops, to swinger event theme parties and weekends away)..Sometimes the events range from sexual to non sexual, depends what people look for and want. Quoting 'Orangesound'You see, the 'My event alerts' sit below the messages and flirts. Unless all the messages and flirts are commercial advertising, it's not the place for these 'event alerts'. Apparently, I don't have an event alert box either... weird . Listen to the advice about events won't you. You can always access them through the events page. . And the forums can be a great place to get to meet RHPers too.
