  Just theorising..... .... but if a relationship is in peril.... I doubt swinging is going to fix the issues underlying the problem. And swinging may cause new problems in an otherwise strong relationship. I feel that any answer to the question asked is going to be a very personal and subjective one so I look forward to answers from those who are Couples in here, and who do swing. It'd be cool if there was a he said;she said option that was credible too. DG

  in our humble experience it has definitely strengthened the relationship: taken a good solid relationship and made it mind-staggeringly wonderful (no exaggeration!) but we've seen it pull couples apart too: jealousy issues, trust issues, self worth issues, etc. so we've drawn the conclusion that if there's something amiss in your relationship, swinging will probably pull things apart faster than if they took their normal course. and if you're already in a strong one, swinging is the icing on the cake. and we'd venture to say that it is NEVER a solution to a marital issues. don't bring someone else into our intimate space until you are sure that your relation ship is running on all cylinders.

  For us, it had always been a fantasy of mine to experience an MFM to see my wife totally and utterly fulfilled (we still haven't done that yet). It was also as we got together young and I was the only man Mrs him_and_me had experienced. I was comfortable with the idea of her sleeping with someone else so that was how we started. It is well worth mentioning though that while I was comfortable with the "idea"...I had a real and completely unexpected emotional backlash. It took time to work through and we both talked constantly through it. We are very much a strong couple and are really happy for our venture into swinging (Thanks Joe)...as it has improved our relationship and sex life immeasurably. However, that is largely because things weren't broke to begin with and we communicate well. We still have eemotional times, but we provide each other whatever support is needed as ultimately, this can be loads of fun and we want it to work. Great post by the way.   Just like Mrs Him, I had only had sex with my gorgeous man. He suggested swinging and it took us till this year to do it ( till I had the confidence in myself).   we tried meeting new people through another site a few years back but K wasn't into it and joined in like a dutiful wife wanting to please her husband. Some of the sex was good but while it didn't harm our relationship it didn't enhance it. Fast forward to mid 2014, K had a moment of 'enlightenment' and since she's led the way to meet new friends our bond is far deeper and richer than it's ever been. We both wanted great sex with new people but the real 'payoff' has been a much better marriage. Definitely not something we expected but an amazingly satisfying fringe benefit!

  We started swinging about ten years ago. I can honestly say it has stopped things from getting dull between us and we have learnt things from others. I can also say I have never met anybody else I would rather be with. We are sexually different but work around it. We have other major interests and feel we work well as a couple. It's not for everybody and there were initially hurdles and communication issues, but we have enjoyed a lot of laughs, friendships and memories along the way. This morning hubby was reading an article out to me from The Weekend Australian that suggested the average number of sex partners for a woman was 8 and for a male 18. He said "I owe it to you for helping me to be above average." At least we always get a laugh out of it or more aroused.
